2014 was a milestone year for Eyemouth Herring Queen in that we crowned our 70th EHQ. Preparations started way back in 2013 when the panel chose Miss Ailsa Landels and the EHQ committee set to work for a festival to be remembered. Former EHQs were contacted and fifty seven attended the crowning on Saturday July 26th, five family members representing EHQs who are no longer with us. Ailsa and her maids, Isla, Miranda, Cerys and Sophie, lady in waiting, Jennifer, trainbearers Sophie, Martha and Evie and sailors Ruairidh, Ferguson and Rocco as well as all the other children in the procession, had a brilliant day. The rest of the week was jammed packed with fun events that everyone took part in. Big thanks to everyone who allowed their children to take part in this year’s festival. The photos just show how amazing it was !!! ESP
